The Henry George is Regent's take on the penny loafer — and it's been done properly. A split-toe loafer in brown plough suede, hand-stitched and hand-made in Northamptonshire, the historic home of English shoemaking.

The split-toe construction and hand-stitched detailing give the Henry George a quiet elegance — refined without being fussy. The leather-welted sole and leather insole speak to the quality of construction underneath; these are shoes built to last and to be repaired, not replaced.

Most loafers are cut too wide and lose their shape after the initial break-in. The Henry George is designed narrower than the norm — it will soften and mould to the foot over time, but stay fitted and secure rather than slipping loose. A deliberate decision, and one you'll appreciate on the first long day in them. This means that you can go half a size down.

Wear them with a short, narrow trouser with turn-ups, tailored shorts and a blazer, or anywhere a sharp casual shoe is called for.  Simple, contemporary, and thoroughly timeless.
