Inspired by the hard-wearing naval clothing of the 1940s, the Pike Brothers 1943 CPO Shirt in Moleskin Soil Brown combines authentic military heritage with traditional craftsmanship and everyday practicality.
Originally worn by Chief Petty Officers of the United States Navy, CPO shirts were developed to withstand the demanding conditions of life at sea. Their substantial construction, practical pockets and comfortable, roomy fit made them an essential part of a sailor's working wardrobe.
While traditional CPO shirts were commonly made from wool or wool-blend fabrics, Pike Brothers has reimagined this classic design in heavyweight cotton moleskin. Woven in Germany to traditional specifications, the 410g/m² fabric has a densely woven construction and a soft, brushed surface, offering a substantial feel with the comfort of cotton.
The rich Soil Brown colourway gives the shirt an understated, vintage character, complemented by branded metal press-stud fastenings, two practical flap chest pockets and a traditional pointed collar. Its authentic, roomy 1940s silhouette provides plenty of freedom of movement and makes it ideal for layering over a T-shirt or lightweight knitwear.
