Regent's Bike Collaboration with 8 Ball Cycles

If you've been fired up by the Tour de France and seek to emulate the cycling skills of Chris Froome, Regent Tailoring might be able to help. In a new collaboration, Salisbury's tailor has teamed up with The 8Ball Cyclery to make their own bespoke bike.

Channeling Regent's creative skills and interest in the very best design, the partnership with 8Ball Cyclery, who design and make hand-made bespoke bicycles, also elides with the tailor's love of the open road. As Regent Instagram followers will know, bikes – foot and petrol powered – provide a continual source of relaxation and design inspiration (check out the woven silk motorcycle ties, for example). Cycling has also provided a means for Salisbury's tailor to contribute the local community. Back in June, Regent Tailoring's shop window was cleared to make way for a sponsored cycle ride in aid of Alzheimer's Research. Ten per cent of the shop's Saturday sales were donated to the charity.

So, a bespoke Regent Tailoring bike has been a long time in coming. The result, beautifully executed by The 8Ball Cyclery, is an Italian-designed high tensile steel frame, which is remarkably lightweight, fitted out with aluminium components. The gloss black frame contrasts with white Schwalbe tyres, red leather Brooks saddle and matching Moustache handles, to provide a cool, contemporary look. Wood and carbon splash guards add a suave and practical finish.

If you're not in the market for a new bike and merely want to upgrade your existing one, Regent Tailoring also stock products from Brooks England, who have been producing leather saddles and other riding equipment (including straps and bags) since the 1880s.
