Regent - A store to visit...
Regent is a store to visit. We've got a small front and a big behind. Our customers tell us that we're "fun", "eclectic" and "interesting". We believe that 73 New Street is more than just a shop - it's an experience.
We're lucky to have a strong, supportive and loyal base of customers. Without them we wouldn't still be here. Most people that shop with Regent don't live in Salisbury but many of them travel to visit us and experience our store - quite often from overseas...
We sell our products around the globe and we love it when our customers send photos of products they've bought here out in the wild!
Talk about how high streets are struggling has been going on for over a decade. Yet, the situation doesn't seem to improve. Now more than ever, it feels as though small businesses and independents are feeling the pinch. The cost-of-living crisis, the pandemic, Brexit and recent Government policies have made the situation even more challenging. The cost of doing business just keeps going up and there is very little support for businesses like us.
In addition to all the national and international events that have had an impact on the high street, we are also acutely aware of that it is changing customer behaviours (which have been influenced by those events) that is really driving the decline of the high street - we've seen first hand the shift towards online sales, for example. That's one of the reasons we recently revamped our website - to ensure you're getting the best possible interaction with us you can via the Internet.
We've also noticed the number of customers telling us that they source their clothes from Vinted or from second-hand stockists has also grown in recent years - we understand why: money's tight and it's a good way to find a bargain!
In these difficult times, our customer are so important to us. You keep the lights on and our doors open.

Our ethos has always been that if you buy well, you buy once. That's why we seek out heritage brands like Baracuta, Filson and who are renowned for their quality alongside cutting-edge brands like Edwin, Walter and Flower Mountain who are innovating and changing how we think about fashion. Our own Regent brand offers incredible quality on a number of products at the best possible price.
