Soul-to-Sole - Men's Shoes For Any Occasion

Posted by on

Even in this modern world you can still tell a lot about a man by the shoes on his feet, perhaps even more so! Shoes can communicate your taste and personality, whether you have an eye for detail and we are told, even our emotional compatibility. So what do your shoes say about you? So often the shoes we wear are the last thing we think about, but they are in fact as important as a man's tailored suit, or a well cut pair of denim jeans.

Shoes styles take on many forms, the slip-on being one of the most befitting shoe of the man's summer wardrobe whilst the lace-up brogue is the stalwart with a winter suit. At Regent we stock men's shoes from a selection of manufacturers giving us a broad choice of footwear from which we are sure you can find what you are looking for whether it is something formal or casual.

You will find Joseph Cheaney that are handmade in Northampton, Aigle shoes and wellies, still made in the original factory in France and Ludwig Reiter, handmade in Vienna, Austria. We will also soon have three styles of shoes from Doc Martens that are part of their revived made in England range, ready for the launch of the new men's contemporary department at our shop in the autumn. Read on for more about these shoe manufacturers and some of the chosen styles that we stock.

You will find a range of Cheaney shoes in stock at Regent; brogues in leather and suede, George boots and monk shoes. We will be happy to advise on what shoe will suit your choice of outfit and the occasion and if the shoes are not in stock we will always do our best to source them for you.Joseph Cheaney shoes have been hand made in Northampton since 1886, using European leathers and traditional techniques. Cheaney are well known for the pain-staking hand burnishing of every single shoe, which take around eight weeks to complete and over one hundred and twenty manual operations.

Cheaney's Lime is a classic oxford made in smart black calf leather; fully leather lined and with a goodyear welted leather sole. The welt is particularly important as it allows the shoe to be repaired numerous times, enabling the shoe to last for many, many years. English shoe making at its best!   Aigle are one of the most popular brands at Regent, and the Longlake loafer is a great example of a colourful shoe for the summer months. Comfortable and lightweight, these nubuck suede shoes will look their best with tailored shorts: perfect for walking around town, trips to the beach, or going to a BBQ with friends.

Ludwig Reiter is a fourth generation family run business from Vienna specialising in well-made and extremely comfortable footwear in the Austrian shoe making tradition. Ludwig Reiter makes footwear in every style from patent dress shoes, suede trainers, to hiking and walking boots and offer a custom-made shoe service giving you the choice of design, last, leather and sole.

These brown suede trainers are very light and unbelievably comfortable, made with a full leather lining and on an original Champion last. Ludwig Reiter use the sacchetto construction technique to put the trainers together, which means a midsole is not required; a technique that makes the trainers so comfortable.
